6 lessons learnt from the Amy Winehouse movie

  1. Fame and fortune do not equal happiness
  2. All the talent in the world isn’t enough
  3. Two very messy people in a relationship do not add up to a whole
  4. Parents need to practice some tough love
  5. Everyone needs a purpose
  6. The top 5 people you spend time with in life are everything

This movie was a little heart breaking.  Her life could have been amazing and so happy.  Her voice was incredible.  The scene filming her duet with Tony Bennett was beautiful.  She was totally in awe of him and he was so supportive and encouraging to her.  Based on what on saw in the movie (but obviously having no idea about her reality), it appeared her bodyguard was the only person that practiced tough love with her – said no to her going to the pub and binging and did all he could to keep her safe.  Her husband introduced her to cocaine and heroin, and her Dad pushed her to tour when she was at her sickest and most disillusioned.  If she had’ve been surrounded by 5 people putting her best interests first, I really believe she would’ve been fine.

PLEASE be kind to yourself.  We are all fragile in our own way.
